Client Challenge
RSR invited Digital Origin for an introductory meeting following the acquisition of their long‑standing IT supplier, EBS‑IT. With EBS‑IT having played a critical role in supporting RSR for many years, it was essential for the team to gain confidence that Digital Origin could not only maintain but enhance the exceptional service they were accustomed to. This early engagement was pivotal in establishing trust and setting the foundation for a future partnership.
Following initial meetings and further technical discovery sessions, attention turned to RSR’s communications and connectivity landscape. Digital Origin’s unique Connectivity as a Service (CaaS) model stood out immediately, prompting deeper exploration into how it could support RSR’s evolving operational needs.
Like many growing organisations, RSR was managing a fragmented supply chain across IT, telecommunications, mobile, and security services. With over 100 endpoints and continued expansion, the legacy procurement model had become inefficient and no longer aligned with the pace or demands of the business. Both RSR and its clients needed a fully integrated, dynamic, and resilient solution that could scale seamlessly.
Consolidating and modernising their technology estate offered the opportunity to unlock several key benefits, including:
- Reducing costs through supplier consolidation
- Eliminating waste caused by underutilised or duplicated services
- Improving communication with internal teams and external partners
- Reducing administrative burden across the organisation
- Aligning commercial contracts for greater clarity and collaboration
- Ensuring rapid issue resolution without conflict between suppliers
- Establishing a genuine, long‑term partnership built on trust and transparency
The challenge for Digital Origin was to design a streamlined, future‑ready solution that addressed these inefficiencies and supported RSR’s ambitions for growth, resilience, and operational excellence.
What We Did
IT Support & Infrastructure
Digital Origin completed a detailed audit of RSR’s entire IT estate, identifying areas of financial waste and operational inefficiency. A tailored renewal plan was created, alongside the introduction of our Guardian.Pro solution, with additional discounts unlocked by consolidating telephony and mobile services under CaaS.
Wireless Network Upgrade
RSR’s existing Cisco/Meraki setup was fully re‑evaluated. Digital Origin designed a refreshed wireless solution covering both Staff and Guest WiFi, ensuring optimal connectivity across the building.
Mobile Hardware Refresh
With many devices at the end of their lifecycle and working in demanding environments, RSR needed a robust handset replacement programme. Digital Origin provided a flexible 3‑year finance solution for 65 new devices, allowing RSR to refresh their mobile estate without impacting cash flow.
Hardware Procurement
To remove the time‑consuming task of sourcing multiple quotes, Digital Origin now supplies all laptops, PCs, servers, switches and more, leveraging a broad distribution network to secure competitive pricing with same‑day or next‑day delivery. All equipment is provided on simple 30‑day terms.
Hosted Telephony
RSR’s hosted telephony system (Horizon) was previously managed by a third‑party reseller. Digital Origin evaluated multiple tier‑one options with RSR, identifying the best long‑term fit. As part of the phased migration to CaaS, Digital Origin temporarily took over management of the Horizon platform and moved all licences onto flexible 30‑day terms to support future transition.
Business Mobile Services
RSR wished to remain with O2, so Digital Origin implemented a wholesale O2 solution with complete flexibility. All SIMs are on 30‑day terms, with fixed rental and a shared data pool across all users. The setup also allows the estate to move to O2 or Vodafone—partially or fully—at just 30 days’ notice.
