Digital Origin announces leadership transition and strategic focus on integrated IT solutions for UK businesses in 2025
13th December 2024

Digital Origin, a leading Managed Services Provider (MSP) supporting UK businesses, is pleased to announce a strategic leadership transition, effective January 2025, marking a pivotal shift toward fully integrated IT and telecom solutions. This reorganisation, aligned with Digital Origin’s mission to help clients work smarter, accompanies the news that Digital Origin’s founder, James Evans, and Operations Director Bob Sweetlove will step back into advisory roles early next year, concluding their tenure with the company later in 2025.
Stepping into the role of CEO, Stephen Richardson, previously Commercial Director, will drive Digital Origin’s commitment to offering comprehensive IT and telecom services, allowing clients to consolidate all technology needs under one roof. This unified approach enhances solution cohesion, improves troubleshooting speed, and reduces financial waste—making technology a seamless, efficient asset for businesses.
Richardson commented, “Taking on the CEO role at Digital Origin is an exciting opportunity to lead the charge in offering fully integrated services. Our focus on bringing IT and telecoms together means that clients can streamline their operations and maximise value. We’re dedicated to delivering smarter, more agile solutions to help businesses thrive.”
As CTO, Tariq Hussain, formerly IT Director, will lead the company’s technology vision and digital transformation services, supporting clients with the latest innovations in telecom and IT integration to drive efficiency and competitiveness. His expertise in unified technology strategies will be instrumental in advancing Digital Origin’s service offerings.
Adding further strength to the executive team, Rupert Evans will join as Chief Operating Officer (COO). With a strong background in operations management, Evans will focus on optimising service delivery, enhancing client experience, and supporting Digital Origin’s growth through efficient, cohesive solutions.
Meanwhile, James Evans and Operations Director Bob Sweetlove will transition into advisory roles beginning January 2025, lending their expertise and insights as the new leadership team takes the helm. Both Evans and Sweetlove plan to conclude their tenure later in the year, having been instrumental in shaping the culture and success of Digital Origin since its early days.
Reflecting on this transition, James Evans remarked: “Our journey at Digital Origin has been incredibly fulfilling, and I’m proud of the impact we’ve made. Stephen, Tariq, and Rupert are well-positioned to drive our vision of integrated IT and telecom services that genuinely benefit our clients.”
